FT writes 'Your new office is just around the corner'

On 3 September, FT columnist Janina Conboye celebrates the hyper-local and how your new office may just be around the corner and helping to prop up your immediate community.

Edge Directer Michael Fern, agrees with this optimistic view.

“The support behind ‘hyper local’ - a term so suited to the home worker is already reactivating the high street for immediate shared office needs and people hubs. It offers a mini destination for the home worker to venture to when lonely, or in need of an escape from household distractions. Or perhaps you don’t have space, need better facilities or just a great coffee and to see other people.

Perhaps then Central London will be reserved for hosting spaces to come together for specific reasons. The best place for a specific task.  It’s bigger than your local High Street and can provide more space per person, more facilities per person, more reasons to visit.

A destination that we will be proud to visit and where we are more widely stimulated - be it the scale of architecture, the diversity or by getting a physical fix of our companies brand and actual physical get-togethers”.
