‘The Now, the New & the Next: Workspace Design’

Michael was invited to share his insights at the Future of Work event organised by Global Tech Advocates, ‘The Now, the New & the Next: Workspace Design’.

Talking about how he sees our workplaces adapting to a post-Covid world and how new design features could make the commute to the office worth it…

“The pandemic has kick-started some serious discussion and debate around the role of the office - and around feeling liberated, much freer, more flexible, with more choice and autonomy.

We’ve started to build a more forensic understanding of why the office is important, with a shift from personal preference to organisational benefit.”

Using examples from his work on Joules new head office he outlined “what we’re really trying to do is map an experience across the workspace, considering both the functional and emotional value” concluding that talking about the positive impact of organisations investing in the long-term benefits of the wellbeing and happiness of their staff is key to encouraging staff back into the workplace.
