Up and coming destination, Copeland Park, needed to build a new brand recognition to deliver the right experience to their visitors.
Copeland Park, a thriving mixed use art and community complex in the heart of Peckham, appointed Edge as consultants to help build Copeland Park’s brand recognition and to deliver the right experience. Copeland Park is a haven for creatives and start ups located in a neighbourhood that has been gaining international recognition as a ‘cool’ art and lifestyle destination. A wide variety of artists have studios at Copeland Park in the Bussey Building. A rooftop cinema and bar with a view of The Shard and the City of London, food kiosks, art galleries, fitness studios, rehearsal space, faith groups and a co-working club are also based here.
With so many tenants and visitors, Copeland Park wanted clearer navigation around the site and visual communication that was authentic and unifying. We created new graphics, wayfinding and a supporting identity system to communicate Copeland Park’s eclectic personality and mission, and to deliver the right experience in the space.
The signage reflects the site’s industrial London heritage with a monochromatic logotype and large welcome exterior signs painted with the texture of brick coming through. The new identity also introduces an arrow graphic - a reference to the location in the heart of Peckham. For the directional navigation and internal building signage Tonik Edge has used a palette with bold, bright primary colours and large lettering and numbering.
